Massachusetts Volunteers Centers Combine Forces To Feed The Hungry!

Massachusetts Volunteer Centers combined forces this past September 11th to volunteer at the Greater Boston Food Pantry.

The day resulted in 40 volunteers, 7291 pounds of food sorted, 5833 pounds of food salvaged (80%), 4487 meals made possible, 146 pounds of food sorted per volunteer, 112 meals made possible per volunteer.  

Participating organizations were AARP, Boston Cares, Boston Partners in Education, Community Builders of United Way of North Central MA, Generations Incorporated, Mass. Mentoring Partnership, Mass. Service Alliance, Volunteer Center of Central Mass./United Way of Central Mass.
