Description:
The Erna Badstieber Paws & Claws Adoption Center has been opened for 1 year. We are pleased with the tremendous support from the public. We house and care for city and county stray and homeless animals that have been brought to our facility. Once these animals have been evaluated medically they will then be placed for adoption to what will hopefully be new and loving forever homes. We need volunteers to help clean cages, feed animals, and spend time with the dogs and cats to help them become more socialized and therefore adoptable. We also need volunteers to help with outside chores such as mowing, planting flowers and general landscaping. We are also looking for volunteer assistance with various fundraisers throughout the year.

History:
The Platte Valley Humane Society has been in existence for over 30 years but had never has an adoption facility. With the opening of the Paws & Claws Adoption Center all of our animals will be housed under one roof and in one location. Therefore, we will be in need of new volunteers to assist at the adoption center. There will be a large variety of options for volunteers including direct animal contact, assisting the public,general maintenance and help at our many fundraisers throughout the year.
