Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Stray and homeless animals in our area are looking for their forever homes. The Erna Badstieber Paws & Claws Adoption Center is the perfect place to find your new family member. We have successfully placed hundreds of animals each year with new families and our goal is to continue to place these deserving pets in loving new homes. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!! As these dogs and cats patiently await their new families they need love, attention, and some basic training. Our dedicated staff simply does not have time to go one on one with the over 70 animals normally housed with us. That is where volunteers come in to play! We need people to clean, walk, play with, or simply to talk to the animals. Some volunteers choose one or two particular animals to focus their attention on; others try to work with a variety. This is also the perfect opportunity for animal lovers who cannot have pets of their own to be able to spend time with these wonderful animals. We also need volunteers for help with outside activities like fundraisers and presentations.

We have a volunteer application which helps us identify current experience with various types of animals as well as areas of interest. We are especially in need of adult volunteers. Seniors who love animals but perhaps do not have their own pets for whatever reason are a welcome addition. Youth volunteers looking for community service projects are also welcome. Clubs and organizations like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are also welcome.
