General response volunteer - carry pager and train to respond to the calls when they come in. This would be dealing with families and individuals that have experienced a natural or man-made disaster/emergency in their home. Volunteers would need to have good people and phone skills. Also, would need to be able to work alone as well as with a team, and make decisions with little or no immediate guidance. Compassion for those in crisis is a desired trait for DAT Responders. Volunteers may need to sit or stand for long periods of time, and withstand extreme weather conditions during certain seasons.
