The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum collects, interprets, and preserves our unique heritage in an engaging and enriching manner.
Description:
The Jackson Hole Historical Society houses the organization's research and heritage center, the permanent collections, and the offices. In addition to a permanent artifact collection, the historical society features a library of Western Americana, a small exhibit gallery, and a research center with archival and biographical data, a photograph archives, a map collection, an oral history collection, and a manuscript archives.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the historical society to view the many engaging historical photographs documenting the settlement and growth of Jackson Hole, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The staff is available to assist with your questions about the history of the area. Amateur and professional researchers, writers, filmmakers make use of the varied collections as do area youth groups and the general public.
