Blood Systems (parent organization) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in 1943 with the national headquarters in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. Blood Systems has 3,000 employees with 18 community blood centers in 12 states. United Blood Services (community-based blood center), located in Billings, MT, supplies blood for 46 hospitals in Montana and Wyoming, including St. John's Hospital in Jackson, WY. Blood, for human transfussion, can only be collected from volunteer blood donors.
