Jackson Cupboard
Jackson Cupboard Mission Statement: The Jackson Cupboard provides short-term emergency food needs for members and organizations of the Jackson Community.
Description:
The Jackson Cupboard is the local food bank. We service the Jackson community and surrounding areas. Our food bank serves on average 350- 400 individuals per week. Our organization is run solely by volunteer help and by food and monetary donations from the community. The Jackson Cupboard is open Mon. and Thus. from 4pm to 6pm and Wed. from 9am to 11am. Clients may come and get food 3 times without a referral. After their 3rd visit they need to obtain a referral from agencies such as Community Resource Center, Latino Resource Center, Mountain House, and various churches in the valley. We provide fresh food coupons that clients may use at Jackson Whole Grocer and on site we have non-parishable items and frozen meats. We are in search of Spanish/English and non-bilingual volunteers for our operating hours and for off hours. Some of our jobs include assisting clients coming into the Jackson Cupboard, shopping for food at local grocery stores, picking up donations, and stocking shelves.
