Shelter Operators are called upon when Red Cross Shelters are needed. People displaced by disaster often need a place to sleep, food and information. Volunteers set up the shelter, arrange for snacks and meals, provide compassionate care to people in the shelter, and take down the shelter when it is no longer needed. We open blizzard shelters for stranded travelers, and evacuation shelters when needed Must be willing to complete Shelter Operations Training when offered.
