Assist Grand Teton National Park with the construction of wire mesh cages to protect developing whitebark pine cones from predation by Clark's Nutcrackers, bears, chipmunks, and squirrels as part of an ongoing and Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem-wide effort to collect whitebark pine cones. These cones are being collected to be used for restoration planting and for genetic testing for resistance to non-native blister rust. This job involves cutting, bending and wiring stiff wire mesh. Leather gloves must be worn to protect hands from cuts and wire cutters will be used.
Number of hours required per week - variable. Assistance with this project is required from March 9 to the beginning of June 2009. This opportunity is sponsored by: Grand Teton National Park
