Without the dedication of advocates we would be unable to assist the hundreds of people who are suffering in Jackson because of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. If you are interested in becoming an advocate or know someone who is, please read below. The next advocate training will begin on Wednesday September 23rd in the evening. It will run from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm in the St. John's Medical Center Board Room and will continue in the evenings on Thursday September 24th, Tuesday the 29th, Wednesday the 30th and Thursday October 1st, Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th. The training will prepare you to answer Help-Line calls by teaching helping and crisis counseling skills as well as provide in depth information about domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, harassment, stalking, and local resources for crime victims. We recognize that this is a large time commitment and really appreciate your willingness to make these dates a priority. We ask that you try and make all of the days, but if your schedule does not permit that, we will offer follow-up training or "make- up" days for the discussions that you missed. If you would like to sign up for the training, please email Shannon at shannon@csnjh.org and confirm that you will be attending. Thank you so much for you interest. We look forward to meeting you.
