Description:
The Allendale Association is a comprehensive child welfare agency serving children and adolescents with mental illness. Volunteers are needed to support the youth in our residential treatment center who have endured childhood trauma and abuse. Our therapeutic programs and services rely on the support of volunteers who serve vital roles in the care, education, and well-being of the youth we serve.
History:
Located in on 120 acres in Lake Villa, IL, Allendale has served disadvantaged youth since 1897. The children and adolescents in our care are referred through IL DCFS, DHS, and ISBE. Formerly an orphanage and home for boys, Allendale is now a thriving residential treatment center for the treatment of childhood mental illness.
