Agency Details:
LEAD (Linking Efforts Against Drugs)
LEAD is a community based organization dedicated to the role that adults play in the promotion of healthy family relationships and the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and risky behavior by youth.
Description:
LEAD supports parents and other adults with parent education programs, information about parenting and the stages of development of children, discipline approaches, and information about risks that face youth today. We also have parent networking programs, a library of resources for parents, and hold monthly meetings on various subjects of interest to parent and the task of raising children today. Our agency also educates parents on drug and alcohol trends, recognition, and prevention, and we lead an Underage Drinking Task Force addressing the problem of teen drinking.
History:
Established in 1991, LEAD has evolved over the years from strictly a drug prevention agency to an agency that works with parents of all ages to raise healthy children who learn to make good decisions. We work with all of the schools in the community, plus many other organizations to work together to help raise kids with strong internal assets and good decision making skills.
