History:
Oak-Leyden is a community-based, non-profit agency. Originally formed as the Oak Community School in 1956, the agency was founded by concerned community parents who wanted their children with developmental disabilities to receive the training and education that would allow them to be as independent as possible within home, work, and community settings. Now, with 50 years of experience, the agency serves more than 500 participants each year from communities in western Cook County.
