A FREE Production Of The Yellow Dress
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Mar 14, 2007 to Apr 14, 2007

South Suburban Family Shelter is pleased to invite you to a FREE production of The Yellow Dress, a one woman play about teen dating violence.  The Yellow Dress is based on the stories of young women who were victims of dating violence.  The play is produced by Deana's Educational Theater, created in memory of Deana Brisbois, a 23 year-old woman who was a victim of dating violence.

Reports of dating violence are increasing at an alarming rate.  One in five female high school students report being physically or sexually assaulted by a dating partner.  Additionally, 40% of teenage girls between the ages of 14-17 report knowing someone thier age who has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend.

This play is especially appropriate for teenagers, their parents, educators and other youth advocates.

South Suburban Family Shelter is able to extend this invitation FREE of charge due to a grant from the Chicago Foundation for Women.  While admission is FREE of charge, reservations are strongly encouraged due to space limitations.

To make a reservation or for additional information, please contact Vicki Meilach, Community Outreach/Prevention Program Coordinator at 708.798.7737, ext. 233.
