The New England Autism Center will be the first of the six regions throughout Vermont as a place to access expertise specific to autism. Reported to the Dept. of Education in August of 2006, a committee documented the details of the systems needed to bring the needed services to Vermonters with autism spectrum disorders. Ellie's Place has offered recreational opportunities, including "Ellie's Camp," and weekly bowling and was registered as a 501(C)3 non-profit along with NEAC, which embarked on educating parents and professionals about autism. Inservice trainings and lectures are offered to public schools as well as universities, offering details through the professional and personal direction of Director, Linda T. Luxenberg, M.Ed.
