The mission of The Campus Kitchens Project is to use service as a tool to:

  • Strengthen Bodies by using existing resources to
meet hunger and nutritional needs in our community;
  • Empower Minds by providing leadership and service learning opportunities to students, and educational benefits to adults, seniors, children, and families in need; and
  • Build Communities by fostering a new generation of community-minded adults through resourceful and mutually beneficial partnerships among students, social service agencies, businesses and schools.
  • Description:
    The Campus Kitchen at UVM is a student run nonprofit organization. We salvage unused food from University Dining Services, create nutritious meals and redistribute the food to members of the Burlington, VT community. We additionally offer community nutrition classes and collaborate on anti-hunger efforts with local nonprofits.
    CK UVM welcomes community volunteers to help with our weekly food distribution shifts at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. Volunteers meet at the Food Shelf at 9:00 am and help to prepare, distribute and clean-up food until approximately 12:30 pm.
