The mission of the Winooski NRCD is to ensure the wise use, protection, and enhancement of Vermont's natural resources through the use of local initiatives, education and partnerships; to foster public awareness and appreciation for the value of and need for natural resource conservation; and to advance the understanding that we all are stewards of the living earth.

Description:
The Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District (NRCD) is a non-profit organization servicing the Winooski River Watershed, Browns River, and portions of Lake Champlain's sub–watersheds, including all the land and resources within Chittenden and Washington counties and three towns in Orange County. Founded in 1940, we are dedicated to providing on-the-ground conservation assistance as well as promoting public awareness and appreciation for the value of conserving our natural resources. Our programs focus on urban conservation, watershed stewardship, agriculture, and education and outreach.
