NeighborKeepers is a non-profit, anti-poverty organization in Winooski, Vermont that has adopted the “Circles of Support” national program.

NeighborKeepers Circle of Support Program is a high impact strategy whose focus is the creation of positive social networks in relationship with families to increase resources and build sustainability.

Description:
Social Entrepreneur, Hal Colston, who developed the Good News Garage in 1996, has initiated NeighborKeepers.

Participants and volunteers(allies)collaborate to eliminate barriers to success in a supportive environment, investing in the trans formative power of positive social networks to build an inclusive community where patterns of isolation and dependence are broken down.

Through the power of interdependent community, everyone can develop the resources to realize a sense of purpose, fulfill relationships and contribute to the common good.

Volunteering to become part of a family’s Circle of Support as a trained “Ally” can help create positive futures and strengthen our community.
