Agency Details:
Friends Of Burlington Gardens
Friends of Burlington Gardens is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to community, school, and neighborhood gardening in the city of Burlington and across Vermont. Our mission is to create, enhance, and preserve community-based gardens through advocacy, education, and community outreach.
Description:
Whether it's teaching beginners how to grow fresh organic produce at the Community Teaching Garden, or assisting with a new school or neighborhood gardening initiative, Friends of Burlington Gardens helps to match people who want to grow fresh food with the resources, skills, and support needed to fulfill their aspirations. Volunteer projects focus on service-learning and emphasize "doing with" rather than "doing for." Many volunteers develop a long term relationship with Friends of Burlington Gardens.
