The Burlington Emergency Shelter is a Christian homeless shelter located in the Old North End of Burlington. Our mission is:

  1. To provide temporary shelter, food, and other services to all men and women in need who come to us professing a willingness to help themselves.
  2. To help these individuals become productive members of society.
  3. To demonstrate God's love so that people in need might find hope and peace within our doors. It is our ultimate hope that our guests and others in the community will be drawn to Jesus Christ by witnessing His peace, joy, love, forgiveness and saving grace at work in the Burlington Emergency Shelter.
  4. Description:
The Burlington Emergency Shelter is here to provide a clean living space, clean bed, hot meal and shower for homeless men and women; to assist in finding employment for those adults able to work; to assist in finding permanent housing; to assist those who want to return to a productive role in society.
The Shelter accommodates 16 men and 4 women in separate facilities and the Good Neighbor Program accommodates 8 men.
There is no stay limit in the homeless shelter. We will work with an individual as long as it takes to help him/her to return to a productive lifestyle. We teach classes on how to write a resume, prepare and dress for an interview and how to present oneself at the interview.
