Muscular Dystrophy Association, Vermont Division
Since 1950 the Muscular Dystrophy Association has been striving to find the causes and cures to 43 different neuro-muscular diseases. Though significant research and breakthroughs have been made by MDA-funded scientists, MDA also made itself available to the immediate needs of those affected by any of the forms of muscular dystrophy. A network of patient services are readily available through more than 190 field offices and 240 hospital-affiliated clinics nationwide.
Description:
Clinic services at FAHC which include initial diagnosis, follow-up medical care, physical, occupational and respiratory therapy evaluations, assistance with purchase and repair of wheelchairs, genetic counseling, and flu vaccinations. Also a summer camp for children ages 6-21, support group sessions and research. All services are free of charge.
