Position title: Board Members
Description: Board Member for small, family-centered nonprofit offering employment, residential, social, and school-transition supports to adults and children with developmental disabilities in Chittenden Co. and throughout northern VT. In particular, we seek board volunteers who have family members with developmental disabilities. (Our agency was founded 40 years ago by family members of people with developmental disabilities. In seeking to retain that sense of a small, family-centered agency, our By-laws require at least 50% of board members be related to a person with a developmental disability.)
Day, Time, & Place of Board Meetings:: Monday evenings at 6 p.m. (typically 4th Monday of the month) at CCS offices at 512 Troy Ave, Colchester (Ft. Ethan Allen).
Minimum Position Requirements (e.g. serve on sub-committee, attend events): A commitment to our mission and an interest in our work. We recommend volunteers unfamiliar with CCS visit our Web site and contact our Executive Director to express interest in serving. Potential new members typically attend at least one meeting before the board extends an invitation to join, which allows the volunteer a pressure-free opportunity to learn more.
Once on-board, typically serve on a committee as well.
