Volunteers will help with all aspects of planning and implementing a fundraising event during August 2010 in Chittenden County. Volunteers will attend and contribute to meetings and planning sessions as needed; volunteer activities will be determined by the planning committee and based on volunteer interests and skills. Activities may include assembling mailings; soliciting, picking up, and maintaining inventory of donations for silent auction; preparing and distributing publicity materials; setting up or breaking down on the day of the event; supervising volunteers on the day of the event; maintaining appropriate records for future reference, etc. Volunteers will gain marketing and public relations experience, enjoy a leadership role in a nonprofit setting, obtain experience working an event, contribute to the greater good of the community, and receive ongoing support and recognition from CVAA staff. Volunteers must be able to understand and communicate agency goals and activities to the community-at-large. Volunteers will be able to develop relationships with organizations and individuals who can further CVAA financial goals. Volunteers must be able to work independently and in small teams. Volunteers should enjoy working with people of all ages and have flexibility and presence of mind under pressure. Volunteers must be able to understand, communicate and follow directions. Enthusiastic, positive, and cooperative attitudes are welcome. Volunteers are encouraged to offer creative solutions to problems.  This opportunity is sponsored by: CVAA
