Fall/Winter Preparation of COTS Shelters

As fall approaches, we need volunteers to help our facilities get ready for the cold weather. This includes yard work (raking, planting bulbs, repairing fencing if needed, etc.), light exterior painting (such as steps), washing windows, caulking and insulating, etc. Work sites include the two Family Shelters (on Main and North Champlain streets), the Waystation/Wilson (lower Church Street)and the Daystation (back of 179 S. Winooski Ave.)

We need volunteers who are free at these times
One-Time
This volunteer opportunity is available to the following types of volunteers
Adolescents (13-17)  Individual
Adults (26-54)  Large Group (6 Or More)

Community Service (School)  Young Adults (18-25)
Families
Volunteers will work with the following groups
Abused / Battered  Low-income / Poverty
Adolescents (13-17)  People Diagnosed With Mental Health Disorders
Children (5-12)  People With Developmental Disabilities
Families / Parents  Refugees/Immigrants
Homeless  Young Adults (18-25)
This volunteer opportunity addresses the following social interests
