Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 13, 2009

In partnership with Vermont Adult Learning, we offer free classes for immigrants and refugees interested in learning English or improving their current English skills. Students also learn how to use a computer and develop the social skills necessary to participate in community life in the United States.
Classes are held weekday mornings at King Street and free childcare for infants and toddlers is available. We look for volunteers in the community to come and play and read with the children while their mothers are learning English.

King Street Center meets with all prospective volunteers to discuss volunteer opportunities; to conduct an interview; and be shown around the center. We ask all volunteers to provide us with an application, references, and fill out a criminal record check.

This opportunity is sponsored by: King Street Center
