English as a Second Language Instructor
Powered by Truist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on July 9, 2009

The Fletcher Free Library is seeking a volunteer instructor to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the library on Wednesdays, with at least several months’ commitment. Instructors should be flexible and ready to adapt to an extremely variable classroom (classes are free, for all levels, without registration, and involve a variety of refugees, immigrants, and international students). This position provides great experience and is a valuable resource to English-language learners. The library’s ESL classes have been very successful for several years now, and our teachers are greatly appreciated by library staff and patrons.

Volunteers should have previous ESL teaching experience (or, if enrolled in St. Michael’s College MATESL program, be in their second year of study). Volunteers should also be ready to commit to two hours a week of volunteer teaching.
