Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on March 25, 2009 |
The Boys & Girls Club Compass Mentoring program links a young person (K-8th Grade) with a mentor. Any community member who supports the mission of the Boys & Girls Club can get involved in youth development in this personal way. Just as a Boys & Girls Club staff member's one-to-one work with each boy or girl is the key ingredient to deepening impact, a volunteer mentor's personal attention and guidance can truly open new doors of hope and opportunity for them. Mentors must make a 1 year commitment to meet with their mentee at least once a week for 1-2 hours. Mentors are required to go through a standard application process, face to face interview, background checks (including fingerprinting) and must attend a mandatory orientation training. This opportunity is sponsored by: Boys & Girls Club of Burlington
