Investment Fraud Educator

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on June 8, 2009

Investment Fraud happens to many knowledgeable and independent people. Our goal is to use a prepared curriculum that can be shared with groups of seniors and baby boomers to alert them of tactics, resources and responses to incidences of deception. This is part of a partnership with AARP and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. You will receive an orientation to Vermont SMP and curriculum training with other Vermont volunteers, like yourself. You can assist to locate interested groups/audiences. Then you can deliver our message to these small groups found in local churches, senior centers, libraries, etc. We will provide materials and support and any assistance that ensures your success with this program.

Volunteers must attend a Vermont SMP orientation to become accustomed to our mission and that of our sponsoring organization COVE. You must attend an Investment Fraud training as well. Otherwise, it is important that interested persons are comfortable educating adults and speaking in front of groups.
