PACE Vermont, Inc. is looking for an individual that enjoys working with numbers and people. PACE is a team oriented organization serving the most frail and vulnerable older adults in Vermont. We are a capitated managed care organization; individuals with accounting experiences will find new and enjoyable challenges in this organization. This is a two-day per week volunteer opportunity reporting to the Administrative & Fiscal Services Manager. Interested individuals must have experience with Quickbooks and payroll entry. On a weekly basis: *Prepare and obtain appropriate check authorizations for accounts payable requests *Post all payable into Quickbooks *Update accrued expense reporting for Service Provider payments On a bi-weekly basis: *Generate Accounts Payable checks based upon direction from the Administrative & Fiscal Services Manager *Accumulate timecards from both Centers and generate required reporting for submission of payroll *Create journal entries for posting of payroll Our administrative offices are located in our "Center" where our participants come to receive recreational, social, medical and clinical services. We enjoy the opportunities to participate in meaningful activities with the participants we care for. Prior to enrolling into the PACE program, a participant had six emergency room visits and three hospitalizations in an eighteen month period. He kept to himself in his one bedroom apartment in a senior housing facility. Upon enrollment into the PACE program, he started attending the Center two days per week. We learned that he enjoyed photography and made arrangements for him to receive photography magazines and free access to one-time use cameras. His multiple chronic health care conditions were evaluated by the interdisciplinary team and this participant began to understand how he could improve his own health. We were able to decrease his overnight anxiety by providing a television in his bedroom with a remote control. He no longer lay in bed looking up at the ceiling wondering what was going to happen to him. In the two years he was in PACE he had no emergency room use or hospitalizations.
As a Federal program, PACE conducts mandatory background checks including: motor vehicles, Adult Protective Service, Child Abuse Registry, Medicare exclusion database. We also provide an orientation for all volunteers. This opportunity is sponsored by: PACE Vermont, Inc.
