Organize meals for Burlington Emergency Shelter (BES)
Powered by Truist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on July 28, 2009

We are looking for someone to spend a few hours a week from your home to organize meals for the homeless shelter. You will be responsible to contact (via phone or email) churches, restaurants and individuals to fill in empty dates on the meal calendar. You will also partner with the BES office administrator who is responsible for sending out mailings asking people to provide meals. You can set your own hours. Please note that the BES does not receive any state or federal funding. We rely strictly on volunteers.

You would need to spend approximately 2 hours at the Shelter in order to learn what would be required of you. This voluntary opportunity is not difficult to do, however, it's important in that it ensures that our homeless guests are fed a hot meal 7 days a week/365 days a year.
