Watershed Mentoring adult-to-youth mentors
Powered by Truist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 12, 2009

Watershed Mentoring is seeking qualified adult (18+) mentors to meet weekly with children and younger teens. Franklin County kids need you to be a helpful friend. We seek a one-year minimum commitment; our most successful matches have lasted several years and are the basis for lifelong friendships. Children are referred to mentoring for a variety of reasons--overwhelmed single parents, a child who needs encouragement and positive adult friendship to succeed in school, interact socially, or make healthy choices--and mentors can make a huge difference in the life of a child.

Mentor applicants undergo a screening process that includes an FBI background check, reference checks, and in-depth interviews. We are looking for mentors who have completed high school or higher education and are working, retired and/or pursuing their education.
