Fall Riding Session for Champlain Adaptive Mounted Program Court Community Service
Powered by Truist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 15, 2009

We work with people with disabilities of all ages and we need your help to walk beside a rider (side walker) on a horse for their safety. We also need horse leaders that have worked with horses before that can assist the rider in leading the horse. It takes as many as three people per rider depending on the riders individual abilities. Horse leaders and side walkers are key to rider safety and their enjoyment while riding.

Aside from our scheduled classes we need volunteers for individual lessons at various times through the week. Call or e-mail for specific times. There are also many chores around the farm that need doing like grooming horses, mucking stalls, general upkeep etc. Volunteers are always welcome.

We offer periodic training sessions for new volunteers, but we also train as we go. If your interested in joining us download an application at www.vtchamp.org or call us at 802-372-4087 or visit us in South Hero. We welcome interested visitors.
