Last updated on October 27, 2009

The Somali Bantu Community Association is currently seeking volunteers to support our Adult Literacy Program. This program is designed to meet the specific needs of nonliterate or preliterate adult learners, those who cannot successfully access traditional ESL or ELL classes. The program is supported by a team of volunteer instructors from a wide range of backgrounds and expertise. All volunteers are given the support of our Community Development Director in terms of lesson planning and are given "on-the-job" training as co-teachers.

No experience necessary
No required term of commitment

All volunteers must serve as co-teachers until approved. All teachers must meet with our Community Development Director during the week prior to their scheduled class for lesson planning (typically 1 hour during the week + 2 hours class time).
