We are looking for someone to serve as a Regional Volunteer Liaison in support of a statewide Medicare Integrity/Consumer Protection Program. This person will assist with recruitment and supervision of 3 - 5 local volunteers who will serve in various educational and outreach capacities. VT SMP outreach activities are designed to educate and protect beneficiaries and program integrity. Regional Volunteer Liaisons will help identify additional local volunteers to staff educational booths and look for opportunities to reach and educate people about Medicare error, fraud and abuse. You must have a willingness to learn basics about the Medicare and Medicaid programs and how healthcare error, fraud and abuse occurs. The VT SMP Statewide Coordinator will provide orientation and at least one program training per year. Team meetings will take place quarterly and volunteers are encouraged to join the VT SMPs Advisory Council's bi-monthly meetings. A background in supervision, advocacy, education or healthcare will be particularly helpful. You must provide your own transportation.
