Are you looking for ways to make a difference in your community? The American Red Cross needs your help! Become a canteen volunteer at the Blood Center. Welcome donors to the canteen, serve refreshments, chat with donors. Volunteers should be alert and if a donor is not feeling well, call for help. Provide donor recognition, prepare and maintain canteen as a clean and pleasant area, answer questions or refer questions to appropriate staff. Basic reading and writing skills and the ability to interact with others in a pleasant and courteous manner are important. On the job training, retraining and updates are provided. Use the skills you use every day to support our generous blood donors with some TLC. Volunteers work flexible 2- 4 hour shifts during center hours. Center hours are 9-6 M-F and every Saturday 7:30-1. Application and in-person or phone interview required. Volunteers should be at least 17 years old or be accompanied by an adult.
