Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on September 30, 2009 |
Volunteers create art with children on the Pediatric Wing at Fletcher Allen Health care, helping them to heal and grow through the creative process. Volunteers will transform the children's play room into an art studio. Our volunteers' duties include maneuvering the "art cart", painting and interacting with children, labeling and getting permission slips for artwork, cleaning up, and returning the art cart to storage. We look for volunteers who have compassion, creativity, and patience, and love working with children. Artistic interest is important, but experience with art is not necessary. Ideally, volunteers would commit to one hour and a half shift per week. The current volunteer shifts are Monday through Saturday from 3- 4:30 except for a shift on Thursday that runs 10-11:30. Currently, we're looking for substitute volunteers that can fill in when our regular volunteers are unable to attend. However, we may be looking for volunteers in late winter and early spring. Application & orientations by Burlington City Arts and FAHC. There are two orientations with Fletcher Allen Healthcare, a background check, and a TB test. The TB test doesn't hurt, I promise. Also, to volunteer in Pediatrics, you must be at least 16 years old. Other than the age limitation, we encourage all to apply. This opportunity is sponsored by: Burlington City Arts
