Meals on Wheels Driver/Home Food Delivery

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Volunteers deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound elders in their neighborhood. Drivers pick up food at central location and deliver promptly to residential locations on their route. Volunteers interact with people receiving food to be sure all is well with them and report any changes and/or concerns to CVAA staff. Benefits include seeing the difference you make in someone's life, contributing to the greater good of your community, obtaining experience working with seniors, and receiving ongoing support and recognition from CVAA staff. Time commitment varies from 1 day per week to 1 day per month, from approximately 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. weekdays. Training provided. Drivers needed in Chittenden, Grand Isle, Franklin & Addison Counties.

Requirements include reliable transportation and clean driving record, ability to understand and navigate routes, flexibility to accommodate last minute changes, punctuality and commitment to the program, friendly demeanor, and ability to remain open-minded about differing lifestyles.
