Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on April 7, 2009

The Salvation Army receives donated clothes on a daily basis. Our stores support the community through the resale of clothes and other items. Proceeds provide us the opportunity to help others in need. Our operational goal is to sort through the donations, determine resale value, hang and hand-tag items and transport to store racks. Donated bags can weigh anywhere from 5-25 pounds, requiring the volunteer to be in good health
The times needed are Monday through Saturday 9am to 5pm. Volunteers may work at 336 North Winooski Thrift Store, 358 Dorset St. Thrift Store and the Processing Center on One Industrial Parkway in Burlington. Also at 223 Lake St. in St. Albans

Because of the possibility of lifting of bags, the volunteer must be good physical condition. An average bag of donated clothes can weigh 15-25 pounds
