Bicycle Repair Court Community Service

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 2, 2009

Bike Recycle Vermont is a volunteer-based, self-funded, project of Local Motion. We accept bicycle donations and provide repaired bikes, along with helmets and locks, to very low income Burlington area residents, including resettled refugee families and other vulnerable populations.

Bike Recycle Vermont has given away over two thousand bikes over the last four years. We have hundreds of bikes requiring minor and/or major repairs to make them roadworthy. These bikes need anything from simple jobs (such as adding reflectors and filling tires) to major rebuilds and modifications. While we have a strong need for highly skilled bike mechanics, we also welcome people with beginner-level bike repair skills who are willing and able to further their skills.

This is an especially great opportunity for people wishing to volunteer more than just once.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Bike Recycle Vermont
