Abbie Hunt Bryce Home
The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home is a residence providing compassionate, respectful and dignified support to the citizens of Central Indiana who are terminally ill and without financial resources.
Description:
The AHB Home serves 12 terminally ill persons at any one time. We provide housing, food, support, recreation, transportation, and volunteer support. We are not a medical facility. Hospice care is provided to each resident by the selection of a Hospice Team of their choice. The Hospice RN directs the medical care including setting up medicines that can be offered to each resident on a timely basis. The Hospice Social Worker provides the social supports to the resident and assists in planning for funeral/burial.
History:
The AHB Home opened in July 2004. In the first two and one-half years we served over 80 individuals. The Home was planned and is financially supported by VNS and donor contributions; no government dollars are accepted and residents pay no money for care.
