Help distribute fresh produce to individuals and families in need! This opportunity will enable you to make a visible and direct impact. Second Harvest, the "single largest nonprofit provider of food to low-income households in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties," (http://www.secondharvestfood.org/aboutus/index.php) delivers produce to EHP. EHP, in turn, distributes the produce to needy members of its community. Volunteers for this position will help organize the produce for distribution, and then give the produce to needy individuals and families. This is a very busy day at EHP, and volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with many of our regular clients. Produce distribution occurs at the EHP site on the 1st Tuesday of every month, from 1pm-3:30pm.
Volunteers should be able to stay for the duration of the produce distribution activity. We will provide you with 15 minutes of training prior to the start of the activity, so please arrive by 12:45pm on your first day. This opportunity is sponsored by: Ecumenical Hunger Program
