IU Hilltop Garden And Nature Center

Dedicated to providing services, programs and education in gardening, horticulture and nature-based activity to enhance the well being of individuals and society. Programs include youth gardening, parent/child gardening, adult education, demonstration gardens and therapeutic horticulture.

Description:
Hilltop Garden and Nature Center is located just off the 45/46 Bypass and the corner of 10th Street. Follow the driveway for Tulip Tree apartments, and you'll find parking places for Hilltop.

We're open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, rain or shine. On the grounds and in the greenhouses there are flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and trees. Some are native species others are imports. We've always got something fun growing on at Hilltop!

History:
Hilltop Garden was established in 1948 and since that time, Hilltop has nurtured both people and plants. Many 8 to 14 year-olds have learned about responsibility and caring for the environment at Hilltop. Some "Hilltoppers" have turned that experience into their lives' work.

The enjoyment of gardening at Hilltop is not limited to children. There are workshops for adults on things such as Fall vegetable gardens, making concrete birdbaths in the form of giant leaves, holiday wreath making etc.

Directions:

Take to 45/46 Bypass to the corner of 10th Street, turn West, take the first right and pass Tuliptree apartments. Hilltop is on the left before the cul-de-sac.   Nearest Bus Stop: 9/Tulip Tree stop, 2 minutes minute walk
