Volunteer Opportunity Details:

More than 30 trail miles in Bloomington’s city parks need periodic inspections and maintenance to remain safe and usable. Volunteers have been valuable in establishing and maintaining our trails for many years. We are now providing organizations and groups an opportunity to “Adopt-a-Trail.” Trails up for adoption include Leonard Springs Nature Park, Griffy Lake Nature Preserve, Wapehani Mountain Bike Park, Winslow Woods, Twin Lakes Sports Park and Bloomington Rail Trail.

Schedule group (of 5 or more people) for a three- to four-hour shift.

Inspect adopted trail at least once a month. Complete and submit reports on trail status. Provide maintenance as needed. Do at least one work day per year.

Volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation prior to the program.
