Ushers Needed for Present Laughter at Brown County Playhouse

Sign Up Here!

Join us for a night of clever comedy at the historic Brown County Playhouse in Nashville, Indiana! Ushers hand out programs, tear tickets, help patrons find their seats, and then sit back and enjoy the show for free. We even provide transportation from Bloomington for most performances. Performances are August 7- August 23, Wednesdays through Sundays, with performances at 8 PM Wednesday- Saturday and at 3 PM on Sundays and some Saturdays. Ushers would need to be at the theatre by 7 PM (2 PM for matinees) for training.

No experience is necessary, we do all training at the theatre. Dress code is "dressy casual." Minimum age is 16, but this can be waived on a case-by-case basis. Rides may be available, please mention if you need a ride; rides leave at 6 PM from the Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center on campus.

About the Show:
"Sinfully charming…sharp…funny" -New York Times

Brown County Playhouse producer Jonathan Michaelsen directs Present Laughter, a farcically funny comedy that sparkles like fine champagne. In Present Laughter a popular, pampered, and self-obsessed stage star is rather fearfully facing his forties. But Garry needn't worry that he'll be abandoned. As he prepares for an upcoming theatrical tour he is bombarded by friends, relatives, a love-struck ingénue, his long-suffering secretary, and an aspiring—if quite mad—playwright who invade his elegant London flat – many of them attempting to seduce him. And then there's his estranged wife to avoid – or not. With typical Coward repartee and dazzling wit, Garry sidesteps the complications and escalating comic confusion. This wonderful romp about growing old gracefully is a summer sizzler and just a whole lot of fun.
