Volunteers visit new mothers at Hamilton Medical Center and provide a baby developmental calender, parenting information, and local community resource guide. Volunteers and staff follow up with phone contacts for 3 months. Community Volunteers ranging in ages from 18 to 80 on a weekly basis by visiting the Hospital to see new moms. They spend time talking with the mother about issues she may face as a new parent. They offer the services of the First Steps program to follow up with them on a bi- monthly basis with phone call contacts. Must be 18 years of age and a " People Skills Person". A referrence check is required. Orientation training (3 hours) must be completed. There is a monthly inservice meeting. This opportunity is sponsored by: Family Support Council

To get to our office, take Interstate 75 to exit 336, Rocky Face. Turn right off the exit ramp onto the North Bypass. Heading east, go through 4 stoplights and turn left at the 5th light onto Cleveland Highway. Very soon, merge into the left turn lane, in front of Wheeler's Lumber. Turn left at the light onto Waring Road. The Family Support Council is the third building on the left, in front of Shaw Plant #6.
