Welcome to the 16th Annual Foothills United Way's Day of Caring
Day of Caring is one of the largest one-day volunteer efforts annually in
Boulder and Broomfield counties. Local volunteers are paired with nonprofits to
complete a variety of much needed projects. 2008 was a record-setting year
for Day of Caring, with more than 900 participants donating
nearly $73,000 worth of volunteer time on one day!
Get Involved. Any company, community
group, social group or individual interested in making a difference can
volunteer for Day of Caring. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
UNITE your organization. Day of
Caring volunteers provide thousands of hours of service and valuable skills to
agencies in our community, allowing those agencies to serve more clients more
efficiently.
For your business or organization, Day of Caring provides a simple, effective
and highly visible way to demonstrate strong corporate citizenship, community
leadership and a culture of philanthropy. It also provides great teambuilding
opportunities for employee groups - something outside the office to collaborate
on and feel good about.
Sign up. Choose a project. Make a difference. Day
of Caring volunteers can take part in a wide variety of projects. Some may
deliver meals to homebound persons, or help glean crops that will be used to
provide fresh vegetables to those in need of food. Some may help organize files
in a health clinic or repair and repaint a building that provides emergency
shelter. From construction to landscaping, from human service to arts and
crafts, there is something for every volunteer - something that will make a
lasting impact on many lives.

Boulder Valley Women's Health Center
Agency Details:
Boulder Valley Women's Health Center
The Mission of Women’s Health (Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center) is to provide accessible, confidential and comprehensive gynecological and reproductive healthcare, including sexual health services and education. Women’s Health envisions a healthy community of people empowered to make informed choices about their sexual health and well-being.
Description:
Women's Health has two locations in Boulder county. We provide a full range of gynecological services for all women -- regardless of age, race, sexual orientation or income level -- in a caring, respectful, and confidential environment. At Women's Health, all women have access to gynecological care. An uninsured woman can have complex gynecological surgery on a sliding fee scale. A woman who chooses to terminate a pregnancy can receive those services in an environment that is safe and preserves her dignity. A teenager can have access to free sexual health education, birth control, and diagnosis and treatment for STIs (sexually transmitted infections). By offering a full range of gynecological services, most on a sliding fee scale, we help ensure that every woman has access to quality reproductive health care. We have also expanded our commitment to providing contraception to everyone regardless of ability to pay. In January of 2009, we added No-Scalpel Vasectomy to our services and now provide all major forms of birth control on a sliding scale.
