Family Resources

Family Resources is a place for all who care for children. Our programs prepare, educate and support parents and caregivers by creating a greater understanding of the impact they have on the lives of children in their care. Our programs are provided at no charge to anyone who requests them, without regard to income, social status or parenting experience.

Description:
Family Resources is a non-profit organization that provides parent education and support through classes, workshops, play groups, warmlines (telephone help line), support groups and home visits. We also provide Birth to Three service coordination, Child Care Certification and Child Care Referral services.

History:
Family Resources was initially founded in 1990 because of a community needs assessment-the La Crosse Community Foundation's "To Make A Difference" study which identified three major needs in the Community:

• Services to prevent youth and family problems.
• Advocacy for various types of child care for parents and support services for the child care professional
• and education and support for the Asian Community
