The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks mission is to promote, protect, preserve, restore, and enhance the State Park System in order to protect our precious gems for future generations.

Description:
The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks supports local Friends groups and the State Park System by providing monetary and publicity assistance for events and projects that enhance and preserve Wisconsin's state parks, trails, and forests. From candlelight ski and hiking events, to clean-up days, to interpretive programs, local Friends groups engage and educate the local communities about the value of the Wisconsin State Park System.

History:
Friends of Wisconsin State Parks has been a registered non-profit organization for approximately 11 years. The Central Office is housed in the WI Department of Natural Resources building in Madison, providing a liaison between the organization and the State Park System. 80 local groups, each representing a specific park, forest, or trail, have formed over the past 11 years and more are forming each year.
