Description:
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater LaCrosse serves approximately 500 members and another 3500 youth of the La Crosse area at 7 sites.We provide a safe place for kids offering programming in the arts, recreation, education and life skills.

History:
The Boys & Girls Club began in 1965 when a group of local businessmen realized that the youth of LaCrosse had nowhere to go.In 1978, girls were first allowed as members.In 1983, because membership had grown so significantly,a decision was made to raise nearly $1,000,000 to build it's first site on Clinton St.dedicated solely to the Boys & Girls Club.Ine 1990's the Club continued to grow and additional sattelite sites were established.In 2004 the Mathy Center was built in collaboration with Viterbo University.Today in addition to the Erickson Club on the northside and the Mathy site on the south side, we also provide programming at Schu and Huber Homes sites, a Club in West Salem & LaCrescent, a site at Hamilton School and an outreach program in Holmen.
