The YWCA Bridges Program works to empower “at-risk” teenage girls, ages 15-18, and referred to the YWCA from local high schools. Participants in the program have the opportunity to work with mentors and/or attend group activities relating to life skills, relationships, and positive peer interactions. Through life-skills training, positive adult role-modeling, and just being a caring adult who is willing to listen and connect teens to appropriate resources, mentors empower teens to transition successfully into adulthood. The YWCA of the Coulee Region is looking for mature, responsible, women to be mentors; the minimum age requirement is 18 years old. Mentors must submit a complete volunteer application, go through a thorough screening process, meet with the Program Coordinator, and attend a brief mentor training before being connected with the youth mentee. Once connected with a youth mentee, the mentor is expected to make a minimum of a 9 month commitment, meeting at least 4 hours each month. This opportunity is sponsored by: YWCA Of The Coulee Region
